Margaret “Peggy” (Healy) Jalbert, 85, of Salem, NH died Mon., Feb. 6th at her home.
Peggy was born and educated in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Thomas Healy, the 2nd youngest of nine children. She had been an executive secretary in NYC and in later years worked as a legal secretary with Eaton and Chandler in Lawrence, MA. Peggy was a very active member of the Ingram Senior Center where she enjoyed bridge, line dancing, sightseeing and theater excursions, also planning parties and amateur shows. Previously, she was an original member of the St. Joseph's Church Sodality and was presently a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church. She was also a long-term volunteer at the voting polls in Salem. Peggy enjoyed all things NYC; the Rockaways and later NH beaches, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and foreign travel, especially trips to Ireland where her family roots were. She loved staying in touch with her large family and numerous friends.

Sons: Edward and his wife Marie of Gypsum, CO, Michael of New York, NY, Thomas and his wife Rebecca of Harrisonburg, VA; Daughters: Kathleen and her husband Brad Marshall of New York, NY, Patricia and her husband Gabriel Kreuther of New York, NY; Sister: Lauretta Kelly of Charlottesville,VA; Grandchildren: Malissa, Melinda and Michelle of CO, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Calling hours will be Thurs., Feb. 9th from 11AM – 1PM and 5-8PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Fri. at 10:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church on Lawrence Road in Salem. Cremation will follow.
