ROCKINGHAM: Mrs. Pearl Smith Mabe Reese, 77, of 913 Rockingham Rd., Rockingham, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 in her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:oo PM on Monday, February 6, in the Pine Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Corey Wilson officitaing. Internment will follow in the Northam Cemetery Extension.
A lifelong resident of Richmond County, Pearle was born in Stokes county on May 24, 1934 a dughter of the late Sam and Mary Stevens Smith. She worked in textiles at Aleo Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, James, and Hassell Smith, and two grandsons, Michael and Steven Garrison.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Eugene Mabe and Hal W. Mabe both of Hamlet, William Edward Mabe of Rockingham; a daughter, Linda Lammonds of Rockingham; two brothers, Vester Smith of Rockingham, Billy Joe Smith of Kannapolis; four sisters, Mary Teal and Ruth Alice Teal both of Kannapolis, Jean Speight of Lumberton, Dorothy Cherry of Rockingham; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1-2:00 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, and other times at the home.
