Obituary

Magdalene Broome Volner, 74, of Montezuma, Georgia died Monday, January 30, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with Pastor David Dispain officiating. Interment will follow in Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Volner was born November 19, 1937 in Alapaha, GA to the late Grover C. and Nellie Petty Broome. She moved to Montezuma from Jacksonville, FL where she lived for fourteen years. Mrs. Volner received two management certificates from Florida Community College. She was a retired Accountant for the City of Jacksonville and former owner/operator of Maggie’s Treasures, an antique shop, in Montezuma. Mrs. Volner was a member of Community Friendship Church in Montezuma.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Bill Volner of Montezuma; children, Michael & Gladys Booth of Montezuma and Debra Lambert of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Austin Gragg, Titus Booth, Kaleb Booth, Jared Lambert and Zander Booth; 3 great grandchildren; brother, J.R. Broome of Ocilla and a sister, Ola Mae Pacetti of Jacksonville, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Booth.
