Obituary

Gloria Trotter, 84, of Great Neck, NY, died unexpectedly Thursday January 26, 2012 at the Metro West Medical Center in Natick.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edgar W. Trotter.
Born and raised in Jamaica, West Indies, she was the daughter of the late Louise Henry and Jeremiah Young.
She spent the adult years of her life in Flushing and Great Neck, Long Island, NY. For the last two years she resided at Whitney Place in Natick, MA.
Mrs. Trotter was a lifelong professional educator. She retired from the NYC Board of Education in 1992 after 25+ years of service at P.S. 120Q in Flushing, NY. She mentored young teachers, and after retirement spent many hours helping to score new teacher exams.
She was a devoted and loving mother. She enjoyed her travels to Egypt and China, opera, sewing, bridge, and assisting senior citizens with tax preparation.
Gloria is survived by her brother, Ellsworth Martin and his wife Charlotte of Jackson NJ; three sons and their spouses, Philip Trotter and his wife Julie of Dover MA, Gary Trotter and his wife Michelle of Columbia MD, Wayne Trotter and his wife Jennifer of Boylston MA; three grandchildren Benjamin Trotter, Gabrielle Trotter, and Marcel Joseph; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Gloria’s life on Saturday February 4, 2012 at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, MA. Father Charles Connolly will officiate. Visiting hours 11 AM – 1PM, memorial services starting at 1:00 PM.
Internment will be on Monday February 6th 11:00 AM at St Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
