Obituary

JACOBSEN, Alf I. of Wayland died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, January 13, 2012 following a period of declining health. He was born in Norway on August 15, 1935. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Paroohy (Getzoian) Jacobsen of Wayland. Father of Edgar K. Jacobsen of Andover, Dr. Lisa Jane Jacobsen of Canton; John E. Jacobsen of Woburn, eleven grandchildren and was the brother of Aud Kaalstad of Cromwell, CT. Mr. Jacobsen came to the United States in 1957 to study at MIT in Cambridge. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from MIT. He was the Founder and President of Westgate Construction Corp. in Framingham specializing in the construction of commercial buildings. He loved sports, especially skiing, swimming, tennis, cycling and long outdoor walks. Private family interment was held in Wayland. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 2:00 o’clock at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist, 1508 Washington St, Canton.
