Charlotte J. James, 52, of Derry, NH, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at her home. She was born on July 11, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa, a daughter of Eugene James and the late Karen (Anthony) James. Charlotte was a free spirit who could light up a room, was full of life and was the life of the party. She was known to be a prankster, strong-willed and a fighter. But she also had a huge heart and looked out for others. Charlotte was a great listener. She loved to weed in her garden and paint. Her children were her first priority. Charlotte will affectionately be remembered as “The Flasher”.
In addition to her father Eugene James of Iowa, she is also survived by her four children, Melissa Mooney and her husband Shawn of Derby Line, VT, Jesse Hartford of Derry, Joshua James and Zachary James, both of Lebanon, ME, three grandchildren, Jonathan, Courtney, and Alexander, three brothers, Melvin James, Kevin James and Brandon James, three sisters, Kristen, Kathy and Nancy.
A Celebration of Charlotte’s life was held on Tuesday January 31, 2012 from 5-8pm in the Halcyon Club at 11 Central Street, Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry assisted the family with arrangements.
