Bernard F. McElhinney, passed away at the Winchester Hospital on Thursday, March 26, following a lengthy illness. The husband of the late Blanche B. (Bedulski) McElhinney, he was eighty three years old.
Born and raised in Woburn, he was the son of the late Cassie and Daniel McElhinney. Bernard owned and operated Deans Lunch and the Town Kitchen located in Woburn Square for many years . He later retired from Nucleur Metals of Concord. Bernard served in the US Navy during Worl War II. and has lived in Winchester since 1980, formerly of Woburn.
Along with his wife he was predeceased by his son Paul B. McElhinney, his two sisters Mary McElhinney and Josephine Coldwell, two brothers Daniel and John McElhinney.
Surviving are his son Richard P. of Winchester, his grandchildren Paul R. And Kelly M. McElhinney both of Woburn and his great granddaughter Jada.
His funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Tuesday, March 30, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Mary Church, 155 Washington St. Winchetser at 10. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will concluded with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
