Obituary

John G. “Jack” Taylor, 74, of Derry, NH died Sunday January 22, 2012 in Manchester, NH after a long illness. He was born on December 26, 1937 in Methuen, MA, a son of the late John G. and Rita J. (Schruender) Taylor. He lived in Derry for the past 16 years, formerly living in Lawrence, MA. Jack served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1964. Mr. Taylor was a truck driver for Costa Fruit Teamsters Local 25 until his retirement. He enjoyed science fiction including Isaac Asimov and spending time with his 14 grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeanne L. (McAvoy) Taylor, his five children, Rebecca Quinlan and her longtime friend Renaud Gagne, Deborah Jandreau and her husband Raymond, Christine Levesque and her husband Danny, Cynthia Taylor, Keith Taylor and his wife Kimberly, all of Derry, 14 grandchildren, Stephanie, James, John and his fiancée Valerie, Matthew, Cameron, Caitlin, Anthony, Danielle, Justin, Alexandra, Amber, Christian, Ava and Jacklynne, one sister Nancy (Taylor) Williams and her husband John, one brother, Geoffrey Taylor and his wife Elaine, also several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his beloved dog Prancer.

Following cremation, memorial calling hours were held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 5 – 7pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A liturgy of the word was celebrated at 7:00pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration Community Living Center, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104.
