Edith R. Raymond, 91, of Derry, NH died Monday January 23, 2012 in the Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, NH. Mrs. Raymond was born in Boston, MA on October 9, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Sylvia (Cushman) Pike. While living in MA, she had been employed by New England Art of Abington, and Bostonian Shoe Company of Whitman. After moving to Derry in 1977, she worked for Hadco and Treasure Masters of Derry, served as President of Londonderry Senior Citizens, and Nutfield Heights Association. Edith was also a long time member of Londonderry United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Judy Locke and her husband Roland of Carver, MA, Joan Cook of W. Yarmouth, MA and Brenda Clark and her husband Don of Litchfield, NH, five stepchildren, Richard Raymond and his wife Pauline, and Hank Raymond and his wife Patty all of The Villages, FL, Diane Roe and her husband Ronald of Wells, ME, Rita Cavallaro and her husband Paul of Haverhill, MA and Rene’ Raymond of Hudson, 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren, and her sister, Sylvia Munro. She leaves many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews and her beloved parakeet, Chipper. She was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth A. Johnson in 1977 and later by her second husband, Roger “Happy” Raymond in 2002, her brothers, Robert and Charles Pike, her sisters, Anna Gatanti and Alice Beloin, her son-in-law, Kenneth Cook Jr., and her stepson, Maurice Raymond.
Calling hours were held on Thursday January 26, 2012 from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 11:30 am in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, Londonderry. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Rockland, MA in the Spring.
