Mrs. Stella R. (Dobrzyn) Edwards, of Brockton and formerly of Fishers Isle, N.Y., died Sunday, January 22 in the Braemoor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brockton, following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Edwards. She was born 87 years ago in Mount Carmel, Pa., the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Gladyshewski) Dobrzyn. She was educated in New York and had been a Brockton resident for the past 20 years. Prior to her retirement, she had owned and operated The Harbor Tavern in Fishers Isle for a number of years. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and polka music. She was a former communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton.
She leaves: 1 sister: Dorothy Williams of Haines city, Fla.; 3 nephews: Mario Garcia of Taunton, Gary Garcia of Whitman, and Mike Garcia of Orlando, Fla.; and 3 nieces: Dorothy Clark of Philadelphia, Pa., June Sousa of Melbourne, Fla., and Diane Gray of Haines City, Fla.
A Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Friday, January 27 at 7:00 P.M. Visiting Hours will precede the Service, Friday, from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Graveside Committal Services will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New London, Ct., on Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 A.M.
