Obituary

MANCHESTER – Carl J. Frederickson Jr., 83, of Manchester and formerly of Bedford, died Jan. 23, 2012 at Bedford Hills Care and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was born on May 29, 1928 in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of Carl and Eva (Lacombe) Frederickson.
Following graduation from high school, Carl enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as an Electronics Maintenance Technician aboard the U.S.S. Noa at the end of World War II. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. His first job after graduating from college was working in the petroleum fields in Venezuela, South America.
Upon returning to Illinois, Carl married Marion T. Caci of Chicago. They raised six children and celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Jan 29, 2011. Carl was a long-time employee of Sylvania, and worked as an electrical engineer in the Lighting Division.
He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marion, of Manchester; his children, Peter Frederickson of Manchester and his daughter Lee of Boise, ID; Mark Frederickson and his wife Loriann of Ramstein Air Base, Germany; Deborah Buccini and her husband Ron and their children Callie and Cara of Hampton; Paul Frederickson of Milton, FL; Rosalie Boutin and her husband Dan and their children Monique and Christina, of York, ME; Gina Annis and Scott and their son Scotty Jr. of Manchester; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Carl; his mother, Eva; his sisters Carol and Jean; and his brother, Paul.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Joseph Cathedral, Corner of Pine & Lowell Sts. Burial will be at a later date in NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
