Mary C. “Connie” (Gonsalves) Aguiar, age 77, of Fall River, passed away Jan. 20, 2012. She was the wife of the late Januario S. Aguiar. Born in Santo Antonio Alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Augustine & Maria Teresa (Couto-Cabral) Gonsalves. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Aguiar worked as a Machine Operator for the former Santoro Manufacturing Co. and previously for Bedford Manufacturing. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church and a member of the St. Michael’s Feast Committee. She also volunteered at the Great Feast of the Holy Ghost of Kennedy Park, working at the Bazaar Booth.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Aguiar (wife Martina) of Virginia; a grandson: Jeffrey Aguiar of Virginia; siblings: Maria Theresa Tavares, Maria Helena Aguiar-Sousa, Lydia Gonsalves, and Augustine “Gus” Gonsalves all of Fall River; several nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on THURSDAY at 9:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church as 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours WEDNESDAY 4:00-8:00P.M.
