Mr. Joseph Federico, age 59 of Medford died Saturday in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford following a lengthy illness. Mr. Federico was born in Boston, son of the late Albert and Frances (Andreottola) Federico. He attended local schools and in early years lived briefly in Boston’s North End with his parents. He spent most of his life in Medford although spent much time in Florida. He had worked with his father in the construction trades. He enjoyed cooking, playing games of chance and occasional trips to Foxwoods. He was a fixture at Suffolk Downs where he would play the horses and at Gulfstream Park when in Florida. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in Medford. He is survived by a sister: Phyllis Federico of Medford. He will be sadly missed by his faithful dog ”Albert”. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 AM --10:30 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. His funeral Mass will follow in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Contributions in Joseph’s name may be sent to the charity of your choice. Services will conclude with Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
