TIFTON – Rose Ellen Lockerman Nichols, 59, of Tifton died Sunday, January 22, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Oakey Grove Church in Berrien County. Rev. Garvey Nichols, Jr. and Rev. David Dunn will officiate with burial to follow in Oakey Grove Church Cemetery in Berrien County. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Nichols will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Nichols was born on October 11, 1952 in Adel and was the daughter of George Milton Lockerman and Mary Magdeline Gay Lockerman, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Crossroad Church.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by her husband, Harvey Nichols of Tifton; one son, Aubrey James Nichols of West Berrien; two daughters and one son-in-law, Stephanie Aline and David Yarbrough of Summersville and Melanie Magdeline Nichols of West Berrien; one brother, George “Buddy” Lockerman of Sarasota, Florida; four sisters, Carol Hayman of Ty Ty, Judy Canady of Texas, Linda Fay Herbst and Brenda Kay McKuhen, both of Tifton; and one grandson, David Risby Yarbrough.
