Obituary

Irene P. (Morin) Kate, age 91, of Hooksett, died January 20, 2012 following a long period of declining health from Alzheimer’s.

She was born September 23, 1920, the daughter of Oscar and Blanche (LeMay) Morin Sr. of Hooksett. She was a 1938 Manchester Central High graduate, a retiree of N.E. Telephone and Telegraph, a life member of the Telephone Pioneers, a long time member of St. Catherine’s Parish and a dedicated Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Hendrik Kate Jr., a daughter Linda Rickenbach and her husband Thomas of Hampton, a son Donald Kate and his wife Roxanne of Hooksett, six grandchildren Brett Rickenbach, Ryan Rickenbach and his wife Kelly, Randy Rickenbach, Sarah (Kate) Mackey and her husband James, Bryan Kate and his wife Katharine Parodi, and Meghan (Kate) McMonagle and her husband Bryan, and two great-grandchildren Brady Rickenbach and William Mackey.

She was pre-deceased by a sister Claire Archambault of Hooksett, a brother Oscar Morin Jr. of Safety Harbor FL., and a brother Robert Morin of Hooksett.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Catherine Church, 207 Hemlock St, Manchester. Interment followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
