West Boylston

Francis J.Quinn,79, of 27 Kings Mountain Dr., died Monday, February 18, in the UMASS-Memorial Medical Center, Belmont St. Campus, after a illness.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Irene E. (Kenary) Quinn, two sons, Francis J. Quinn Jr. of West Boylston and Paul J. Quinn of Holden; a sister Florence Landry of Auburn, several nephews and nieces. A brother Joseph Quinn of Leominster, Two sister Rita Kearns of Columbus, Ohio and Mary Caine of Worcester, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester ,son of Michael and Mary (McCabe) Quinn. He graduated from St. John's High School in Worcester and attended Texas A & M. He was a Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a Member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. He was a avid Golfer and a long time member of the Green Hill Golf Club.

He worked as a Staff Representative for the United Steel Workers of America for many years retiring in 1983.

A funeral will be held Thursday, February 21,from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in the Spring. Calling Hours are Wednesday, February 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of Flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the West Boylston Fire and Ambulance Fund 39 Worcester St. 01583
