Donald F. Spindler, of Medford, died January 19, age 84, at Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford. He was the beloved husband of the late, Dorothy E. Sullivan who died in 2006. He was born January 22, 1927 in No. Reading, a son of the late George and Mary (McCarthy) Spindler. He graduated from North Reading High School before serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired as a clerk from the Middlesex County Registry of Deeds in Cambridge.
He is survived by three children; Karen Rieberio of Winchendon, Paul Spindler of Medford, Marcia Vitale and her husband Joseph of Tewksbury, a sister; Marjorie Smith of Melrose, a brother; Richard Spindler and his wife Joyce of No. Reading, a special friend; Anne Marie Stronach of Tewksbury, seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George Spindler and the late, Helen Sullivan.
His Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, January 24, at St. William Church, in Tewksbury. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Lisa Spindler Scholarship Fund, C/O Bank of America, 172 Park Street, No. Reading, MA 01864, are appreciated.
