Jackie L. Leavitt, 57, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, January 13, 2012 after a brief illness, with his family by his side.
The son of Laurence and Annette (Bryant) Leavitt of Lawrence, Jack was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
Jack loved to listen to Doo-Wop music. Computer games, card playing, TV, movies and bingo were among his hobbies. Jack found the greatest joy in spending time with his loving family, especially the holidays.
Jack is survived by his wife of 25 years: Eleanor “Ellie” (McLeod) Leavitt, his step-daughters: Holly (McLeod) Mailloux and her husband Louis of Bedford, NH and Bonnie (McLeod) Nichols of Lawrence, brothers: Roland of Haverhill, MA and Raymond and his wife, Evelyn of Dracut, MA, grandchildren: Scott and Jillian Mailloux, and Spencer, Brandon, and Sean Nichols, and a nephew, Nathan Leavitt.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. A funeral service will be celebrated immediately following the calling hours at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
