Theresa M. Picard 85, died peacefully Monday January 16, 2012 at Liberty Commons in Chatham, MA. She was the wife of the late Arthur W. Picard who died in August, 1996.
Born May 11, 1926 in Woonsocket, RI, she was a daughter of the late Josephat and Irene (Marcoux) Chamberland. She resided in Bellingham, and Ft. Myers, FL before moving to Cape Cod. Mrs. Picard worked as an office manager at Mark Stevens for many years.
In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She delighted in sharing with friends the many accomplishments of her family. She was quite proud of them.
She is survived by a daughter Suzanne E. Daigle and her husband Joseph of South Orleans, MA, three sons Arthur W. Picard, Jr. and his wife Muriel, of Bellingham, MA, Jeffrey R. Picard and his wife Patricia of Andover, MA , and Dennis P. Picard and his wife Dorothy of Chatham, MA, two brothers, Bernard Chamberland of RI and Robert Chamberland of FL, a sister, Doris Danielle of FL, seven grandchildren – Matthew, Joshua, Elizabeth, Amy, Keith, Christopher, and Kaitlin, and six great-grandchildren – Kensington, Beckette, Emma, Ryan, Juliette, and Andrew. She was also the sister of the late Jeannette Ballas.
Her funeral will be held Friday, January 20th at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours are Thursday 4-7 PM.
