Obituary

Anna Marie (Cerullo) Lucas, 80, of Franklin passed away peacefully in the arms of her family on January 13 in the Milford Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her loving husband George for the past 56 years.
Born in Boston, August 2, 1931, the daughter of the late Eugene and Rose (Prisco)Cerullo.
After many years as a devoted stay at home mother and homemaker she went to work for Sun Life Financial where she retired in 1991.
An avid beach-goer, she loved summer vacations and day trips to Cape Cod. Anna loved to knit, crochet and quilt… to read and do cross-words. She loved collecting dolls. She gave generously to charities- especially those for underprivileged children. Having a daughter with Down Syndrome she was an outspoken advocate for the mentally disabled.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Dorothy Cole and her husband John of St. Augustine, FL, Diane Souza and her husband Jerry of Milford, Susan Petitt and her husband Everett of Franklin, Judy Braley and her husband Dana of Woonsocket, RI and Julie Lucas of Bellingham.
She is also survived by her brother Richard Cerullo of Westwood and her sister Grace Flynn of North Oxford.
She was the sister of the late Carmen, Vincent, Eugene, David, Louise, Anthony, Donald and Etta.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Jessica Roddy and her husband Keith, Rachel Petitt and Sarah Braley and two great-grandchildren Madison and Max Roddy.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday January 18 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00
Burial will be in Union Street Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Special Olympics, 1133 19th St. NW. Washington, DC 20036.
