Michael J. Kaltenbach

...U.S. Navy for 12 years; 44

TEWKSBURY - Michael J. Kaltenbach, age 44, a U.S. Navy Veteran, died unexpectedly,Wednesday morning, Mar. 24, at Saint’s Memorial Medical Center, after suffering a heart attackat his Tewksbury home. He was the spouse of Mary Ann Cantu.

He was born in Van Nuys, California, Dec. 5, 1959, a son of Carolyn (Gibson) Van Benthuysenof Lake Isabella, CA, and Charles Kaltenbach of Simi Valley, CA. He was raised in Californiaand attended college there.

He enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served for twelve years, includingtime in during the first Middle Eastern Gulf War.

Upon discharge, he lived in Charleston, S.C. before moving north to Tewksbury ten years ago.

He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He was also a supporterof the National Rifle Association.

Besides his spouse and parents, he is survive by three daughters, Ysabel Cantu Anita Cantu andHannah Kaltenbach all of Tewksbury; two sisters, Suzanne Kaltenbach of Lake Isabella, and MaryKaltenbach of San Francisco; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jonn and Eroca Taylor, Patrick andDiane Kaltenbach all of Simi Valley; a step-brother, Nels and his wife Debbie Van Benthuysen ofCA; a step-sister, Christine and her husband Ralph Krusey of CA; many aunts, uncles andcousins.

At his request, funeral services were private.
