Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Agnes “Kit” (Bezdegian) Tarbox, 85, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of Fred S. Tarbox, Jr.
Born in Worcester on May 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Avedis and Mary (Manoogian) Bezdegian. She had resided in Shrewsbury for many years before moving to Gloucester in 1956.
Kit loved to spend time with her grandchildren and looked forward to their annual family fall foliage trips to the White Mountains. An avid gardener, she also enjoyed tending to her flowers and feeding the birds in her yard.
In addition to her husband of nearly fifty-four years years, she is survived by her son, Fred S. Tarbox, III of Gloucester; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela J. and John McKechnie of Rockport and Cheryl L. and Thomas Powers of Gloucester; seven grandchildren, Spencer, Jordan and Colby Tarbox, Mark and Rachel McKechnie and Emily and Winslow Powers; a brother-in-law, Robert Tarbox of Gloucester and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Aram and Richard Bezdegian.
Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the Dolliver Memorial Cemetery, W. Gloucester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Massachusetts Audubon Society, 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield, MA 01983 or to the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
