Stanley Levandowski, 91, of Derry, NH and Barefoot Bay, FL, died peacefully surrounded by his wife and their nine children on Wednesday January 11, 2012, in his home Barefoot Bay, Florida. He was born in Peabody, MA on October 18, 1920, a son of the late Paul and Sofia (Modreko) Levandowski. Mr. Levandowski was a longtime resident of Derry, wintering in Barefoot Bay. He was a US Navy veteran serving for six years during WWII. Mr. Levandowski was the owner and operator of Poultryman's Marketing Service for 28 years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry and St Luke’s in Sebastian, FL. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne (Frechette) Levandowski of Derry and Barefoot Bay; nine children, Marilyn Warren and her twin sister Carolyn Leahy and her husband Richard all of Plum Island, MA; Michael Levandowski of Derry and his twin brother Stanley Levandowski, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Land O’ Lakes, FL; Patricia McGuiness and her husband James of Orlando, FL, Stephen Levandowski of Barefoot Bay, Joel Levandowski and his wife Cynthia of Hooksett, NH, Kathleen McKechnie and her husband Todd of E. Hampstead, NH, and Maria Levandowski of Manchester, NH., his much loved sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; as well as three brothers, Peter Levandowski of Derry, John Levandowski of Manchester, and William Levandowski of Portland, ME; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Paul Levandowski, Mary Worster and Frank Levandowski.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, January 17th from 4 - 7pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Rd. in Londonderry, NH.
