Karle, Helene (Holfelder) of Hingham and Harwichport, died on January 10, 2012, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, she was 71.
Beloved wife of the late Harold “Larry” Karle.
Cherished mother of Andrea Sullivan and her husband Mark of Medfield, Lawrence Karle and his wife Laurie Anne of Norwell, Jane Ellen Harrison and her husband Michael of Wilbraham, Robert Karle and his wife Michelle of Canton, Paul Karle and his wife Wendy of Winchester and Caroline MacKenzie and her husband Brian of Dorchester. Sister of Lawrence A. Holfelder of Tampa, Florida and the late John Holfelder. Sister in law of Lucy Holfelder of Bethel, CT. Beloved grandmother of Madeline, Shea, Sydney, Peyton, Ryan, Paul, Andrew, Audrey, Luke and Griffin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Helene was a graduate of Our Lady of Elms College in Chicopee. She taught school in various locations including New York and Boston. Later in her career she taught at Massasoit College. Helene was a devout Catholic, she was a member of Resurrection Parish in Hingham, there she taught CCD and enjoyed bible study.
She also enjoyed the ballet, history crafts, spending time in Long Island and traveling abroad. Helene’s life was devoted to her family, it was the foundation of all that was truly important to her. Her children are forever grateful for all the blessings that she brought into their lives and for the example of her unwavering faith and devotion to Our Lord and The Blessed Mother. They will carry her in their hearts forever.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 3-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM.
Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
