Chestnut Hill, Ricardo R. Jardin, age 50, died peacefully at his home, Wednesday, January 11, 2012 following a long struggle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of Angela M. (Sweet) Jardin, with whom he had shared 17 years of marriage.
Born in Madeira, Portugal, he was the son of Rafael Jardim of Madeira, Portugal and Maria Irene (Teixiera) Jardim of Paris, France. Ricardo moved to Detroit, Michigan from France in 1999 and moved to Salem in 2005. He was a software developer and first worked for Summit Partners of Boston and, for the past year, for Providence Equity Partners of Providence, RI.
Ricardo was a kind, quiet and loving man who was totally devoted to his family and many friends. He was always eager and proud to introduce his Angela and Michele to his extended family of friends. He was most generous with his time and energy in support of his two favorite interests; Ste. Anne Parish of Salem and the Richelieu Club of Salem to promote French culture. He is a man who will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his wife, parents and his daughter Michele, he is survived by 2 sons, David Jardin and his wife Melody of Lyons, France, Michael Jardin and his wife Jennifer of Limoges, France, his daughter Diane Jardin of Limoges, France, 3 brothers, Rafael, Jean Paul, and Luis Jardim all of France. He is also survived by 2 grandsons, Matisse and Lucas Jardin both of France, as well as nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 7:45 A.M., to be followed by his Funeral Mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 9:00 A.M. Visiting hours: Sunday 2 to 6 P.M. Burial will be in Ann Arbor, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mass.
