Sandra A. (Alger) Farrell, age 61, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away January 11, 2012 surrounded by her family under hospice care after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the devoted and loving wife of 38 years to her husband John K. Farrell, Sr., and loving daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Morrill) Alger. Sandra graduated from Brockton High School in 1968 and was employed by the Goddard and Cardinal Cushing Hospitals and recently with Dr. John Terzian. For many years Sandra taught second grade CCD classes at St. Edward/St. Edith Stein Parish.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children John Farrell, Jr. and his wife Mary-Ellen of Middleboro, Patrick Farrell of Brockton and Allison Lincourt and her husband Cory of Fort Bragg, NC; six grandchildren Jess and Michael Bair; Kaitlyn Mae, Grace Ann, Gabrielle Rose and Hannah Jo Lincourt; a sister Joyce Comeau of Brockton, two brothers Edgar Alger and his wife Gina of New Bedford and David Alger and his wife Laurel of Derry NH and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert Alger and his wife Priscilla and Edward Alger and his wife Karin and sister in law of the late Gerard Comeau. Sandy was also close to her cousins, Peg Eisnor, Dotty Damon and Carol Ciampi and Nancy Sherrin and the late Maureen DeCarlo. Sandra loved her family and her grandchildren and was loved by all who met her.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 5-8pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home Saturday at 9am for a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 10am. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
