Mr. DeVerde Roy Jackson, of Fall River, died Wednesday, January 11 in Morton Hospital, Taunton following a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Helen (Dawicki) Jackson. He was born 84 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Jackson. He was educated in Taunton and had been a Fall River resident for the past 5 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a greyhound trainer for several kennels around the country. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Mr. Jackson enjoyed watching westerns and football games on television.
He leaves: 2 sons: Gregory Jackson and his wife, Suzanne of Little Compton, R.I., and David Jackson and his wife, Tess of West Palm Beach, Fla., and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Barbara Jackson of Florida.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
