Obituary

Eleanor "Audrey" (Ferguson) Waitkus, 69, of 124 Pleasant St., died Saturday, Jan. 7 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

She leaves her husband of 50 years, Michael J. Waitkus, her four daughters Christine Lowe and her husband Alan of Worcester, her "caretaker" Maryellen Booth and her husband Harold of Leicester, Michelle Gutierrez and Kerry Nderitu both of Worcester, her best friends Ellie Wheelock and Joan Earnest, 12 grandchildren including Kaylina and Cassandra Olivencia, and 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Joanne Lenthar and Sharon Olson.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of William and Eleanor (McDonald) Ferguson.

Audrey was a licensed practical nurse, working at area hospitals and Clark Manor in Worcester prior to her retirement. The family wishes to thank Dr. Wilfred Pitts and his assistant Darlene for their compassionate care of Audrey during her illness.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 10a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210. MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing arrangements.
