Charlton
Laura Bond Truscott 88, a Charlton native, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 8, 2012, after a brief illness.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harold E. Truscott and her brothers, Dwight, Arthur, Willis and her granddaughter Kerry. She leaves two daughters, Judy T. Dunn, Geralyn S. Babineau, and husband Allan, two granddaughters and husbands, two great-grandchildren and their dad. She also leaves a half brother and sister David Bond and Joan Brytowski and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dedicated to her family, church, and community, her life was full and she lived the “Golden Rule”.
She was a member of the Charlton Senior Center, Charlton Historical Society and on the Charlton Housing Authority Committee for many years. Laura was a member of The Federated Church of Charlton for over 60 years serving on numerous committees. Church work was an integral part of her life.
Laura enjoyed quilting, craft work and traveling, baking, reading and sewing, but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She worked for many years, during WWII as a telephone operator, later on as secretary of Charlton High School and retired from the Charlton Center Post Office.
Calling hours are Tuesday, January 10th, 5p.m. to 7p.m. at the Robert J. Miller – Charlton Funeral Home, 175 Old Worcester Rd. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 11th at 10:00 AM at The Federated Church of Charlton on Main St. Burial will be in West Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Federated Church of Charlton, P.O. Box 70, Charlton, MA 01507.
