Manuel F. Nunes, age 91 of Somerset, passed away Jan. 8, 2012 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Ermelinda (Augusto) Nunes. Prior to retiring, Mr. Nunes worked as a Barber and was the owner & operator of Manny’s Barber Shop on Brightman St., Fall River. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, and a parishioner of St. John of God Church, Somerset.
Mr. Nunes is survived by his two sons: Robert M. Nunes of Somerset and Paul R. Nunes of Truro, MA; his grandson: Kevin R. Nunes; a great granddaughter: Emily M. Nunes; two brothers: Domingos Nunes of San Diego, CA & Arsenio Nunes of Argentina; and several nieces & nephews. Four brothers predeceased him.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on WEDNESDAY with calling hours from 8:30-10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Somerset at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
