Obituary

AUBURN-Roger J. Tuttle, 81, of Auburn died Friday, January 6th in The Golden Living Center-The Hermitage surrounded by his family. His wife of 54 years, Cynthia (Buss) Tuttle died in 2006. He leaves a son, David W. Tuttle and his wife, Cheryl of Auburn; a daughter, Lauren A. McCabe of Whitinsville; four grandchildren, Magan, Joshua, Ryan and Brandon; four great grandchildren, Elisha, Vanessa, Haidynn and Mackenzie and two nieces. A sister, Jean Williams predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Elton and Emma (Peterson) Tuttle. Roger graduated from South High School and attended Clark University for 2 years before being drafted into the United States Army. He was a Veteran of the Korean War where he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the UN Service Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. Mr. Tuttle worked at the Telegram and Gazette in the transportation department for 15 years, retiring in 1995. He previously worked at George F. Myers where he was a machinist and owned and operated RJ Tuttle Cleaning and Maintenance. Roger was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses-Kingdom Hall in Auburn where he was an ordained Elder.
Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester is directing arrangements.
