Obituary



Kielty, Edward, of Humarock and West Newton, died Friday, Jan. 6, 20l2. Beloved husband of 60 years of Margaret R. “Peg” (McDonough) Kielty, Devoted father of Robert and Mickey Kielty of W. Newton, Mary and Paul McLaughlin of Humarock, Edward and Julia Kielty of Marshfield and Mark Kielty of Humarock. Loving grandfather “Pa” of Katie, Stephanie, Megan, Michelle, Samantha, Jacqueline, Alexandra, Patrick and Edward III. Edward was born and raised in Dorchester, the only child of Elizabeth (Yourell) and Patrick Kielty. He graduated from Mechanics Art High School , entered the Navy and served aboard the USS Buckner during WWII. Edward graduated from Tufts University and was recalled to the Navy. He graduated from US Naval Supply School as a Lt. , and served aboard the USS Yosemite AD l9 and USS Mullaney DD528. He stayed active in the USNR for 38 years, retiring as a Commander. Edward retired from NET&T as a Toll Service Assigner, 35 years. He received many citations over the years, Volunteer at Brockton VA Medical Center, Weymouth Naval Air Base Special Affairs, Chaplain Marshfield VFW and Tin Can Sailors Pioneers of America.
Visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St.,rte. l39, Marshfield on Tuesday, Jan. l0 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, January 11 at 8 a.m. followed by a
Funeral Mass in St. Christine’s Church, l295 Main St., Marshfield at 9 a.m.
Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W.Roxbury.
