Bertha Thompson Lindsey, 79, of Ray City, GA died Friday, January 6, 2012, at the Berrien County Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Lindsey was born February 11, 1932 in Walton County, Georgia to the late Tom and Annie Lemmonds Thompson. She lived in Ray City for the past thirteen years from Ocilla where she lived most of her life. Mrs. Lindsey was a homemaker and a former employee of Modern Fibers. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and attended the Ocilla Church Of God.
She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Billy Ray of Ray City; son, Donny Lindsey of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Lynda (William) Cowart of Nashville, Donald Branch of Ray City, Heather (Daniel) Chaney and Amanda (Mark) Taylor of Fitzgerald; and 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Leann Ernst and Betty Stone, both of Branson, MO as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey “Shorty” Lindsey, two great grandsons, three brothers and one sister.
