Salem: Rose M. (St. Pierre) Ouellette, age 81 of Salem, died Monday morning, January 2, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of Roger L. Ouellette with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Deschene) St. Pierre. Rose was totally devoted to her husband, her sons and their families, and to her eighteen siblings. Married to Roger in 1952, she loved her vocation as a homemaker and helping out her sisters at their businesses, the former Collins Café of Peabody, and Terry’s Coffee Shop of Salem. She also took great delight in her garden. Rose was a member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Steven R. Ouellette and his wife Maureen of Salem, a daughter-in-law, Carol A. Ouellette-Martini of Epping, NH, a brother, Richard “Jimmy” St. Pierre and his wife Anne Marie of Salem, 2 sisters, Jeannette Maurice of Salem and Terry St. Pierre of Florida and Ipswich, 3 grandsons, Ryan of Raymond, NH and Kyle & Kory Ouellette both of Salem. Rose is also survived by many nieces, nephews and devoted friends including Chet and Jayne Jenkins and Mabel Tremblay. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond R. Ouellette, 7 sisters, Lucienne Dupuis, Alice Viselli, Louise Rosetti, Eva Castronova, Anita Collins, Cecile Fournier, Beatrice St. Pierre, 8 brothers, Albert, Leo, Raymond, Roland, Arthur, Robert, Roger & Rene St. Pierre.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11 a.m. Visiting hours: Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
