In Taunton, January 2, 2012 Rita M. Fratus, age 90 passed away in Wedgemere Nursing Home following a lengthy illness, while she was surrounded by her family. Rita was the wife of the late Emile Fratus. She was born in Taunton to her late parents Joseph & Cora (Baptista) Machado. Rita has resided all her in Taunton. She was a graduate of Taunton High School. Rita enjoyed listening to Country Western music, having coffee and donuts and KFC, above all she cherished her time at home with her family and friends. She is survived by her children; Emile, Manny and Larry Fratus, Dianna Knowles and Marie Keough and her late children Raymond, David and Rita Walker. Her twenty seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her siblings; Frances Pine, Anna Rogers and the late Mary, Irene, Julia, Tony, Manny and Joseph Machado. Rita also leaves several nieces and nephews and many close friends. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, Jan. 6th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 5-8pm. Burial will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
