Obituary

Mary P. (Poulton) Rimbold , of Cumberland, Rhode Island and formerly of Medway passed away December 31 after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of Edgar A. Rimbold for 66 years until his death last February.

Born in Pittsfield, June 6 1923, the daughter of the late Henry and Annie (Hobson) Poulton, Mrs. Rimbold was raised in Dalton, Mass. and lived in Medway 25 years and on Cape Cod 5 years before moving to Florida where she lived until her recent move to Cumberland.
She graduated from Dalton High School and Berkshire Business College and was employed as an insurance underwriter for the Traver Insurance company in Boston for 10 years. Mrs. Rimbold served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher and in the Women’s Service League at the Medway Village Church and was active at the Community Congregational Christian Church in Florida, and in the Christian Women’s Club. She was an accomplished painter and crafter and an avid Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Rimbold , Laurie Rimbold Cummings and son-in-law Roger Cummings of Cumberland, RI. She was the sister of the late Carl, James and Bert Poulton, Beatrice Poulton and Lillian Weatherwax.

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7 in the Medway Village Church at 10:00 am. A collation will follow at the church.

Burial will be private.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Memorial Fund of the Medway Village Church, designated for the wheelchair lift, 170 Village St., Medway, MA 02053.
