WEBSTER – Mary C. (Egan) Vrabel, 89, of Webster, died Friday, December 30, 2011 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after a short illness. Her husband of 61 years, John M. Vrabel, died in 2010.
She leaves a son, Judge Paul M. Vrabel and his wife Mary E. of Pittsfield; a daughter-in-law, Louise M. Vrabel of Sturbridge; 5 grandchildren, Meghan E. (Vrabel) Moretti of West Point, NY, Lindsay A. Vrabel of Southbridge, Matthew M. Vrabel of Washington, DC, and Timothy M. Vrabel and Kathleen A. Vrabel, both of Pittsfield. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark E. Vrabel in 2005, and by a brother and a sister.
She was born in Warren and raised in Sturbridge, a daughter of James E. and Jennie (Mellor) Egan. She lived in Webster for many years.
The funeral will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery. A calling period will be from 8:30 to 9:30 AM Saturday in the funeral home.
