WEBSTER - Frances M. (Zabka) Knurowski, 93, formerly of Grandview Avenue, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, in St. Camillus Healthcare, Whitinsville after an illness surrounded by her family. Her husband of 61 years, Edward A. Knurowski, died in 2000.
She leaves a daughter, Carol and her husband Joseph Neslusan of Portsmouth, NH; a son, John E. Knurowski of Webster; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Neslusan, Lori Ann Nugent and Lisa Marie Neslusan; 7 great grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher, Alyssa and Katherine Neslusan, Shea, Owen and Maeve Nugent; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
She was born in Webster, the eldest daughter of Adam and Mary (Kabala) Zabka and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Knurowski worked at Allan’s Candy then as an office clerk at Cranston Print Works, she then worked until her retirement as a cashier at Park Avenue Elementary School.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. She was an accomplished seamstress and needleworker, she enjoyed gardening and had a great love for animals.
The funeral will be held Thursday, January 5, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Thursday in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to the Staff Appreciation Fund at St. Camillus Health Center, 447 Hill Street, Whitinsville, MA 01588
