Obituary

Janet E. (Woodsum) Larcom, 96, of Walpole died December 30 in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was the wife of the late Dr. Rodney Clayton Larcom ,Jr.
Born in South Braintree, December 13,1915, the daughter of the late Ralph and Elsie (Young) Woodsum, Mrs. Larcom was raised in Braintree and had lived in Westwood and Falmouth for many years prior to moving to Walpole nine years ago. She was a graduate of Thayer Academy and Wellesley College.
Mrs. Larcom had been active in the Falmouth Garden Club, the Falmouth League of Women Voters and had been a volunteer at Falmouth Hospital for many years and had been named” volunteer of the year” once.
Mrs. Larcom enjoyed studying and discussing foreign affairs, gardening, playing bridge, cooking and being with her family.
She is survived b her daughters, Joan Larcom of Honolulu, Hawaii and Pamela Will of Walpole and was the mother of the late Rodney Clayton Larcom, III and Anne L. Kemper.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held on Friday. January 6 in the Candleberry Chapel. 381 South Main St. in Attleboro at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02115 or the Nature Conservancy, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive Suite 100, Alexandria, VA 22203.
