Barry V. Yarbrough, 57, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Dorminy Mill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Visitation will be held 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Born August 27, 1954 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to Patsy Akridge Yarbrough and the late H.V. Yarbrough, he lived in the community all of his life. Barry attended school in Ocilla. He was owner/operator of Fitzgerald Discount Muffler since 1994 and a former employee of Quality Muffler. Barry enjoyed working with horses, riding horses and barrel racing. He was a member of the National Barrel Horse Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the Central Georgia Barrel Racing Association.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Yarbrough of Fitzgerald; children, Barry Vincent, II “Vince” and Mia Yarbrough of Fitzgerald, April and Joseph Tucker of Ashburn, Jodi and Andy Alexander of Fitzgerald and Jake Yarbrough of Manchester; grandchildren, Whitley Alexander, Barry Austin Yarbrough, Sam Tucker and Elizabeth Tucker; brothers, Donald & Ann Yarbrough of Snellville, Julian & Dianne Yarbrough and Oliver & Sally Bryan, all of Fitzgerald; sisters, Kay & Lewis Fussell of Fitzgerald, Dianne & James Kelley of Hogansville and Margaret & Russell Batten of Perry, FL as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Chandler Alexander and a brother, Ernest Yarbrough.
