Obituary

Rose C. (Hansen) Lind, age 84, a longtime resident of Ashland, died on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur E. Lind.

Born, raised and educated in Maynard, she was the middle daughter of the late William V. and Catherine M. (Wilder) Hansen. Rose continued her education at a Boston secretarial school and while working at an insurance company met her future husband. The couple married in 1958 and made their home in Framingham for many years prior to settling in Ashland.

Rose was employed for the better part of her career as the Administrative Assistant to the Athletic Director at Framingham State College. An enthusiastic gardener, she maintained beautiful gardens year after year at her home. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed reading and rooted for Boston sports teams. Devoted to her faith, family, and friends, Rose was happiest in the company of her grandchildren.

Predeceased by Arthur in 2008, she is survived by her daughter, Jenny L. Jacoby and husband F.X. of Natick; three grandchildren, Xave, Nick, and Taryn; a brother, Donald Hansen and wife Marian of Needham; a sister, Florence Bachrach of Maynard; and many nieces and nephews, among them Goddaughter Kathy Daniel and husband Lee of Acton. She was also the sister of the late Dorothy Fisher, Virginia Hansen, and Barbara Nelson.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Natick, on Thursday, January 5th at 9:00a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow in Saint Bridget Church, One Percival Street, Maynard, at 11:00a.m. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard.
