MARJORIE (PARKE) FELTON, A Hingham resident for almost 60 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 22nd, 2011. She was 82. Marjorie was born in Chicago where she lived for 16 years before moving to Washington DC and then to Greenwich, CT. She attended Mt. Vernon Seminary in Washington DC and then graduated from Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, where she made lifelong friends. She was a member of the Hingham Yacht Club, the Cohasset Golf Club and the "Niners". She was also a longtime volunteer for the Hingham Visiting Nurse Association and was an avid reader and traveler. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf with her friends and family.
The beloved wife of the late George E. Felton, Jr., she leaves her 3 daughters; Alice F. Horner of Hingham, Marjorie F. Steele of Cohasset and Nancy F. Hughes of Manchester, MA. and 9 grandchildren; Coleman Horner, Preston Horner, Liesl Horner, Caroline Steele, Sam Steele, Grace Steele, Kyle Hughes, Nat Hughes and Lila Hughes. She was the sister of the late Torsten H. Parke, Jr. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Saturday, Jan. 7th from 9-11 AM. The funeral services and interment are to be private.
