Edward H. “Ted” Kelley, 48, of Windham, NH died Tuesday December 27, 2011 at the Springfield Hospital, Springfield, VT while visiting family. Ted was born in Norwood, MA on January 31, 1963, a son of the late Francis J. Kelley, Sr. and Dorothy (Hefferan) Kelley. He had been a resident of Windham since 1992, formerly living in Hollis, NH and Norwood. Ted was graduated from the University of Mass-Lowell with a degree in Industrial Technology and was a proud member of Sigma Phi Omicron. Ted worked for many years at BAE Systems as a Program Quality Assurance Engineering Manager. He was an avid sports fan and loved to attend Red Sox games with his children, Brad and Tara. Ted also had a great love of the outdoors, and enjoyed golf, skiing, camping and fishing. Ted was also a self-proclaimed music aficionado.
He is survived by his children, Bradford J. Kelley of Windham, and Tara Marie Kelley of Wakefield, MA, two brothers, John Kelley of Norwood, MA and Frank Kelley of Chester, VT, two sisters, Kate Gurney of Raleigh, NC, and Mary O’Leary of S. Boston, MA. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Thursday January 5, 2012 from 4 to 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in St. Matthew’s Church, 2 Searles Rd., Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Children of Edward Kelley Fund, Eastern Bank, 445 Main St., Wakefield, MA 01880.
