Augusta, GA---Mr. John Lester Welch, Sr., 69, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am tomorrow Friday, December 30, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Dan Rosser officiating.
Mr. Welch was a graduate of Richmond Academy, Class of 1961 and was a graduate of the North Georgia Military College, where he received a degree in Business. He was retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, after 27 years service and from Lowe’s Home Improvements.
Mr. Welch is survived by his son and daughter in law, John Lester Welch, Jr. and Nikki Reese Welch of Lincolnton, GA, brother and sister in law, Lewis G. Welch and Jackie Welch of Augusta, granddaughters, Madison Taylor Welch and Aubrey Elizabeth Welch and his aunt, Maybelle Baker Redd of Augusta. Mr. Welch is also survived by his companion, Ms. Emma Jean Craft, to whom, the family is very grateful for her loving care during his illness.
The family would like to say a special “Thank You”, to the staff of Odyssey Hospice, for their kindness and care, to Mr. Welch.
The family will receive friends this evening Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
