Obituary

Boylston - Albert C. Johnson, 87, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Nancy A. (Haynes) Johnson; 2 daughters, Eleanor (Johnson) Carbone of Hinsdale, NH and Jane (Johnson) Andrews of Winchendon; his brother and sister-in-law, Herbert C. and Martha (Haynes) Johnson of Boylston; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Eleanor's twin, Donna Marona as well as a brother and sister, Robert C. and Helen V. Stewart.

He was born in Worcester, son of Marion (Jeffrey) and Albert C. Johnson, Sr. He graduated high school and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He worked as a tool and dye maker for 42 years at the family machine shop, Hollander & Johnson. He later became accredited as a Shop Instructor and taught at Worcester Boys Trade School for 10 years. He was a 50+ year member of Boylston Lodge, A.F. & A.M. and was a former member of Aleppo Shrine. Albert ran a small-engine repair business, Johnson Bros., out of his home for many years.

Calling hours will be Friday, Dec. 30, 4-7 p.m., at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. The funeral service will be Saturday, Dec. 31, 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Debbie Ann Johnson Memorial Fund," Greater Worcester Community Foundation, 370 Main St. #650, Worcester MA 01608-1738.
