Gregory L. Emerald, age 41, of Brockton, MA, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 18, 2011. Greg was a lifelong resident of Brockton and was a graduate of South Eastern Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Over the years Greg had been employed as a truck driver for the Frito Lay Co formerly in Avon; the Dept. of Youth Services in Brockton and presently as a corrections officer for the Massachusetts Dept.. of Corrections in Walpole Prison.
Greg enjoyed all the Boston sports teams especially the Bruins and had played hockey himself for several years in Taunton. He also enjoyed his many travels to Cancun and adored his cat "The Baby"
He is survived by his parents Lawrence Emerald and Linda (Bombard) King both of Taunton; his daughter Kayla Gamel-Emerald of Brockton; his siblings Lisa Emerald of Plymouth, Aimee Hinxman of Brockton, Shannon and Derek King of Taunton; one step sister Lauren Emerald, and three step brothers Michael, John and Benjamin Emerald. He was also survived by one niece, two nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 11:30am - 2pm with a funeral home service at 2pm. All services will conclude at 2:30pm. Cremation will follow.
