Francis W. Thompson, Jr., 71, of John Mowry Road, died Sunday, December 25th at the Hospice St. Antoine. He was the husband of Janice M. (Bruyere) Thompson. He had been married for 50 years.
Born in Peterborough, NH, he was a son of the late Francis and Mildred (Rich) Thompson. He had lived in Smithfield for 40 years. He had served in the US Army.
Mr. Thompson was the Maintenance Manager for Owens & Minor in Franklin, MA before retiring. He had previously been a professional truck driver for many years. In his retirement he repaired lawn mowers and loved antique tractors.
He is also survived by his children Greg Thompson of Smithfield, Jeff Thompson of North Smithfield, Linda Thompson of Cumberland, Catherine T. Mann of Durham, NC, a granddaughter, Heather O’Brien, a great grandson, Kyle and his brothers Lewis Thompson of FL and Gaylord E. Thompson of Idaho.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visiatation respectfully omitted.
