Roland C. “Clayt” Audette

...former Property Administrator at Avco; 82

TEWKSBURY - Roland C. “Clayt” Audette, age 82, a former Manager for Avco, died Thursdayafternoon, Mar. 18, at his Tewksbury home, following a courageous 6 month battle with cancer. He was the husband of Bernice M. (Allen) Audette, who died Aug. 9, 1998.

He was born in Burlington, Vermont, Nov. 18, 1921, a son of the late Alphonse and Mary(LeBlanc) Audette. He received his education in the Burlington school system, and moved toMilford, Conn. where he met his wife. He lived in Tewksbury from 1957 to 1987, and returnedto Tewksbury in 1997 after living in Maddison, NH, for ten years.

Mr. Audette was a retired property administrator for Avco/Textron in Wilmington, and laterworked for Northrop Company as a property administrator in Norwood, Mass. In his earlieryears, he was bartender at the former Anchor Restaurant in Tewksbury, known to his patrons as“Lefty.”

Mr. Audette was a communicant of St. William’s Church, a former singer for the St. William’sMinstrel Shows, and a past member of the Tewksbury Redmen Club.

He is survived by six children and their spouses, Roland Jr., and his wife Carol (D’Allessandro) ofMaddison, NH, Dennis and his wife Dorothy (Brennan) of Tewksbury, with whom he made hishome, Scott and his wife Karen (Klimarchuk) of Wilmington, Patricia and her husband GlenTaylor of Manchester, NH, Tracy Audette of Bradenton, FL, Alicia and her husband JohnLovering of Laconia, NH; sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and a dear friend,Evelyn Larry of Clearwater, FL.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Mar. 22, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment was in St. Mary’scemetery, No. Tewksbury.
