LOWELL: Frances (Griffin) Marcucci, age 76, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at her home in Lowell.
She was the wife of Benjamin C. Marcucci, Sr. who died January 7, 1993.
Born in Boston on June 1, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Richard W. Griffin and Helen (Carroll) (Griffin) Strafello.
Mrs. Marcucci was raised in Cambridge. She later moved to the Brighton section of Boston and attended Brighton schools.
Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was employed as a meat wrapper by the Purity Supreme Supermarket in Cambridge.
Mrs. Marcucci resided in Tewksbury for 5 years until moving to Lowell in 1993.
She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling to Florida.
She is survived by 2 sons; Benjamin C. Marcucci, Jr. of Lowell and Michael J. Marcucci and his wife Tracy (Botelho) of Dracut; 3 grandchildren; Kevin and Michael Marcucci both of Dracut and Amanda Marcucci who is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force in Minot, North Dakota; 2 brothers; Richard “Sonny” Griffin and his wife Beverly of Wilton, ME and Roy Griffin and his wife Susan of Somerville, MA; 1 sister; Margaret Hermann of Lowell; her dear friend Florence Costa of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews.Mrs. Marcucci was the sister of the late Dorothy Buckley formerly of Boston’s Dorchester section.
Calling hours Friday 4-7 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral Saturday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery.
