Obituary

TAUNTON – Edmond S. Thadeu, husband of the late Mary C. (Pina) Thadeu, died at his Taunton home on Dec. 22, 2011, following the celebration of his 100th birthday three weeks ago.
Born, raised, and educated in Taunton, Mr. Thadeu was the son of the late Antone and Rose B. (Correia) Thadeu.
A WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army, he served with the 1395th Engineer Battalion.
He was later employed by Wheaton College as a painter for over fifty years, until retiring many years ago.
A communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, and a life member of VFW, Post 611, he was awarded the Marian Medal by Bishop Sean O’Malley several years ago.
Survivors include a son, Deacon Alan J. Thadeu of Taunton; a daughter, Mary Anne Thadeu of Boston; a sister-in-law, Mary Thadeio of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Dec. 27th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 26th from 5 to 8 p.m.
